Can anyone help? I think that a bony lump has appeared at the end of my horse's back just as the back slopes into the tail. He is not lame or showing discomfort when tacked up/ridden. I will get the back person out but in the meantime I am really concerned as it looks odd! The vet would not commit himself as to what it might be without doing flexion tests, etc. What could it be?

Some horse with kissing spines have small bony bumps above the dorsal processes of their spine, but not all. But I am not sure how many horses get kissing spines in that area of their spine etc.

I wouldn't panic about it, has the vet had a look?
