Has anyone ever had a horse that was diagnosed after scan with a fracture to a cartilage ring around trachea? IE one ring is broken in half. The main symptoms on my horse are hard lump on the trachea and head poking - neck stretching when ridden, particularly in canter - not as an evasion more like a a mechanical comfort adjustment. Coughs twice or so when first start trotting but absolutely no other breathing symptoms either ridden or in the field. In this case lump is about a handspan up from base of neck and to one side. Be very interested to hear from anyone who has had this diagnosed in horse - what did you do and what was the outcome? Thanks

New one to me so sorry I have no experience and wonder how many people will have experienced this. Was this caused by a trauma of some sort? Kick or over vigorous rubbing or congenital defect.
