(Havent been on here in a while lost my log in so im out of looop!)

But anyway back to thread!
Roo my douge de bourdeux has quite a few lumps and bumps, one came up on her paw a while ago, and now has gone hard,
Ive done my invetigating and it seems to be a lump of skin tissue.
Its gotten smaller since its hardened and it doesnt seem to give her jib but im not 100 aure on that....
She has another on her hip, vet has seen that one and said its nothing to be concernes about its just cosmeticly displeasing (seriously did he not see her smoochy face!) So ive not done anything but kept an eye and hasnt changed.

Now my question is, would you remove it?
Im going to the vets tomorrow to get a price as they are going to have to put her under to do it...
So i know i have to go vets im just a nervous mummy :(

And do yours have lumps and bumps?
Or is Roo just very lumpy???
 
My Matty dog had a large lump come up on her shoulder in her later years. Vet checked it and said it was just fatty tissue. Didn't cause her any discomfort so just left it. Didn't want to put her through the whole anaesthetic scenario without it being a necessity. Dexter is a 9 yo Rott and he has a few warty type lumps. Again leaving well alone. Love him....warts and all.
 
My vet said lumps on feet always need investigating. Maya's turned out to be a hemangiopericytoma and she had to have her toe amputated. She recovered very well
 
I bet it's a Hystiocytoma..my former ddb had one on her lip,it went away after a month.
I've just had one on my one yr old schnauzers toe...it was red like a strawberry,but finally went into a dark scab,then self absorbed...this has taken two long months to go as she did try to lick it at times.
In both cases vet checked and reassured me it was a Hystiocytoma or button tumour.
We had a " black sebaceous cyst "removed from my poodles back..under local anaesthetic and he had five stitches as it was very deep.. If your dog is placid,will lie still,ask vet about a local anaesthetic to save her going under a full.
 
My springer pup had a horrid histiocytoma on his head just above his eye, he keeps knocking it due to his liking for diving into every sort of cover he finds, especially the garden flower beds. He had antibiotics for a week as it got a bit manky, he's had it for 6 weeks now. the vet hopes it will be disappearing by the time he has his vacs in another few weeks. We joke that his brain is coming out.

My 11 year old lab has a variety of lumps, she has had 2 extremely nasty mast cell tumours removed (completely unrelated, different types, aged 5 and 9). She now has a few fatty lumps which we don't worry about.
 
I would see if you can get some fine needle aspirate samples done of the lumps, then remove/not remove depending on what they are and if they are causing her a problem.

Some lumps can appear to be harmless such as lipomas, but some can also turn out to be very nasty ones like mast cell tumours.
 
So Vet is stumbbed like me, so samples have been taken and we will hear back in the next week,
Im extremely proud of my baby girl, was stabbed in the foot so many times :(
She didnt make a sound but did have the shakes :(

But im very very pleased with her behaviour!
But vet has a suspicion it could be an cyst

I wouldve left it, but being on her toe is does make me wonder if i could get worse.. :S

Now just gotta wait

So tests came back a benign so it looks like a case of booking her in for surgery, spoke to the vet about not putting her completly under but he wasnt sure she would cope and i aggreed only she seems to only trust me to poke and prod her... :(

Insurance company is being a nightmare

And i remember an insurance for DDBs specifically but cant find it -.-

(The lump seemed quite inflamed after vets did the tests but seems to have gone back to the orignal size *phew!)
 
If it was benign,was it a histiocytoma? If so try panalog cream or gentalyn beta...it should go away without surgery,but you cannot let your dog lick at it as it will get secondary,bacterial infection.
