Evening all :)

On Friday when grooming, I came across a small lump under the skin by hairy ponys' elbow where the girth sits on his far side. Had left to see what happens, as appeared suddenly (wasnt there definately on Thursday when schooled him)

Today another one has appeared under skin on his front part of his shoulder on his near side. However, lump one has also started to bleed slightly - Im not sure if hes caught it or if its "erupted". Nothing is coming out of it. They are probably more cyst like. Very similar to guinea pig cysts, but have just literally appeared overnight as I go over him daily with a fine tooth comb

Any ideas on what could be causing this? Hes on no feed, only 24/7 grazing.

Thank you :)

Heat rash? But not known them to bleed.

Fly bites? My new pony was covered in them when we first got him in April. He was extremely hairy. They've now all gone now that he's fully clipped.

Is he Cobby? They might be cob bumps. Like Cob knee you can get a build up of sebum into a small lump which can then cut or tear the skin when pulled.

But if not - I'd go with fly bites.

yes he is a cob :)

Both lumps have now gone down, although lump A is still an open wound (although not seeping)

Would sarcoids go down by themselves so quickly? or am I just worrying too much and they are just bites:o ........... Ive never had this problem with my old boy lol :)
