Lumps on horses shoulder

I have just recently bought a 4 year old gypsy cob from a dealer near me he is a fab we horse but he has a few hard lumps scattered over his shoulders - they are not sore to touch and do eventually scab up and disappear I have had him a week now and will get vet out as he is due for vacs as well !
Any ideas ?
 
Hi golden star - that is what I'm thinking they are solid lumps / had a squeeze and don't feel pussy or as if they would pop , he doesn't feel any pain in them and only got on his shoulders ! It's strange
 
I have only had him a week and they have been there when I picked him up - I know it's silly buying a horse with visible issue but he's worth every penny !
 
I honestly don't think it's an issue my Tb gets hard lumps when midges bite him they stay a few days then go then he gets more they don't seem to be in any way sore we keep him well fly sprayed .
Keep an key on them and ask the vet when he comes.
I hope your new horse is a great sucess.
