My horse has got some firm little lumps under his saddle area. I haven't changed how i wash his numnahs etc so i am not sure what is causing them or how to get rid of them. The lumps don't cause him any discomfort but i don't want them to get any worse. Has anyone experienced anything similar with their horse or got any suggestions for treating them?

My horse got small hard unpainful lumps under the saddle in Feb time this year, I got the vet to have a look in April, when he was out for another reason and the vet was unconcerned.

By around June time they had gone...

could be sweat lumps - is his coat currently changing?
My old mare used to get it all the time, i would ash her down with hibiscrub (very diluted) after each ride and i used a prolite saddle pad for the absorbtion. Soon cleared up.

google eosinophillic granulomas. My mare has had some, I had a biopsy and they are harmless - just collagen lumps. In my mare it was an allergic reaction. I was worried at the time, if you are worried I would always get them checked out.

Mare had these, hers where caused by sweat, was advised to wash area with hibbi-scrub and wash all numnahs and only use clean ones everytime i rode her. All cleared up after the above advice was followed :)
