Hi my horse keeps getting lumps after a schooling session. He is clipped and does sweat a bit the lumps appear in the girth area and saddle area. They are very itchy and after a while they join up together and become one big swelling. We wash him down after and he has a padded numnah (sheepskin) we are a bit worried as dont know cause or what we can do to stop it. any idea's please

If this only happens after you have ridden, it's highly likely to be something to do with the saddle.. I'd suggest to consider the following...

Have you had the saddle checked for fit? It could be rubbing and causing pressure points/sore spots that are leading to these lumps.

Could be allergic reaction to something... the washing powder you use? The material of the numnah/girth sleeve.. he may have sensitive skin. Have you tried a different material/gel pad? Or - maybe even the saddle soap you use?

OR... is the numnah and/or girth dirty? Dirt can cause skin irritation too.. solution - clean it!

Hope that gives you some help...
