My sharer (well, tbh she cares for and rides horse, i just pay part) told me that horsie has lumps again - he gets a rash when too hot - this time on his bum and he is itching like mad.
I went up to see him and sure enough she gives him a scratch there and he was contorting himself like mad - not in pain though!
When he had the lumps before was about 6 weeks ago and he was unclipped and would get v hot when ridden so he was clipped and then the week after bathed.
He is currently moulting, but also still in a rug due to the weather............Its a LW, well, not a sheet but not a MW - Im not 100% sure, its a rug she bought him.
So I have taken up some Insecticidal shampoo and Deosect to treat him with just in case its bitey nastys, but I am not sure it is as he has a lovely shiney coat - but he is V scurfy.
He has never had lumps this bad before or this itchy. Like I said before just a few when he got too hot when in a HW rug in winter. He is a 16yr old MW Cob.
Any ideas? Or is this a vet visit job?
