lumpy bumpy mare - feed related???

has any one else had experience of thier horse coming out in lumps from a feed consisting of baileys no 4 and alpha a oil? My mare has just come out in lumps ( possibly itchy although that could be due to moulting) after two weeks on this diet, and I am a "little" concerned.

If you look in vetinary there is a post relating to bumps/lumps and the fact that the cause is more than likely heat not food.
 
My mare has had lumps for two weeks even though her food has not changed. She also had them last January so it's a bit odd - not sure what changes in Jan? She's been on antistamines and they have almost gone but she's been really sensitive to touch.
I can understand why you think yours might be caused by change of feed. Hope they soon clear up.
 
hi there my mare is on alpha a oil and baileys no 4 and speedi beet - she too has just come up in lumps over past week - she has been on this combination of feed all winter though so cant be that after all that time - i think it is more likely due to the sudden warm spell they arent used to it yet
 
My mare did exactly the same thing on same feed a couple of years back - changed her from the baileys top line mix to the top line cubes as put it down to barley and she was fine after that, although don't know for sure?
