Wondered if anyone can suggest/offer a solution. This morning our warmblood was covered - well not quite covered in spots and lumps, all around the saddle area and they are all scabby and some had a pus centre. Cleaned off with hibiscrub and applied an antiseptic and they are better but there are still lots of others. Just dont know what they are

My daughters coloured horse does this from time to time. Have never found out what causes it. Just wash with hibiscrub. The lumps scab over and vanish

My last horse (a warmblood) was covered head to hoof in lumps and swollen up, I could tell from quite far away he looked very odd...his face was swollen and one eye couldnt open! I was sooo worried thinking he had something really bad got the vet out asap as was worried about his airways and he said he had a allergic reaction to either some kind of herb or grass in the field or something bit him bad. He just gave him a injection of anti histamines type thing and they were all gone by the next morning. If not gone by tomorrow I'd call your vet for advice.

Hope this helps! :)

Staphylococcus follicullitis by the sounds of it. Infected hair roots. Keep using the hibiscrub after every ride and it should die down. It's caused by a common bacteria on the skin which suddenly decides to infect the hair follicle. It took about a week to disappear when my mare had it.
