Has anyone got any ideas what these lumps maybe and how to treat them?
The lumps are about the size of a quails egg.
I have had the vet to the horse on numerous occasions and 4 months later, two lots of biopsies, steroid spray and quite a substantial vet bill later my adored mare still has them and infact the areas above the fetlock on the hind legs, towards the tendon are filling more to the point of her having a couple of days lameness this week.
The lumps, all hard and prominent are on all four legs in various places below the knee / hock, (coincidentaly / or not) where she had mud-fever in the winter. The worst one looks as though its a filled tendon (but on the outside of the fore-leg) and this is a cluster of lumps all together.
She hasnt been given a stronger steroid because there is a chance of it bringing on laminitis and im not willing to take that risk with her.
Any suggestions / advice would be gratefully received :)

Have you had the legs scanned? If not I should think that would be the first thing you should arrange with the vet. The lumps above and around the fetlock area sound like it could be strained annular ligament or similar but only scans will confirm this.

Thanks for that, vet due out yet again tomorrow so will suggest.
The 2nd lot of biopsies that were taken went off to Liverpool and apparently the results that came back said :- multifocal lymphocytic and neutrophilic dermatitis (poss bacterial in origin) but not ruling out nodular lymphangitis.
None of this being any help to me as it hasnt been explained AND after research on net the symptoms just dont match up
If I could work out how to upload pics on here Id put some up lol
