Lumpy sheath

i noticed io has a lumpy sheath, it doesnt bother him but it looks like a bag of golfballs not bigger, just lumpy. the skin isnt broken and he has fly cream put on daily..OH has vet coming to Dexter so will ask him to look then but wondered if any of you could help?

Is he grey? If so could be melanomas. Alternatively could be fly bites perhaps.

That was my first thought too but he is a 6 yr old appaloosa grey and has very different skin/coat to the true greys i have owned before. He never gets sunburn on pink nose or eyes.

Fly bites are entirely possible but we dont get the big scarey ones here, just the midge and black flies. They still bite so he has cream on his bits everyday.. roll on 9am so i can ring the vet
