As Winter is approaching quickly :( just wondered whether anyone had the Mark Todd or Rambo horse walker rugs or any other in fact!

I need a rug that I can lunge in if it is raining, not to keep him warm but to keep him dry so I can put a rug on straight after... so just wondered how thick the fleece is in those rugs and whether they would be suitable?

I don't have the walker rugs but I do have the Rambo excercise sheet and it's fleece lined, it's cosy and warm like a fleece cooler with a waterproof top on it, so can get warm, we ride in all weathers and I actually have 2 different traditional style excercise sheets (different weights) and a hi vis waterproof sheet. So I mix and match depending on how cold it is, if it's mild and wet I just use the hi vis waterproof, if it's chilly then I might use the lighter one etc, all off ebay, some second hand. But it works for us.

Thanks, so it is a proper fleecey exercise sheet? Think I just need a waterproof one with no hole for the saddle then so he doesn't get too hot.

I already have a heavy waterproof fleece lined one and just a fleece one but you can never have enough exercise sheets obviously :)

The Hi Vis is just like a rain mac..........just a waterproof sheet, but I'm sure there are nicer ones out there. The Rambo one is definately a fleece one that's nice when it's wet and cold!!

Lol exercise sheets in winter replace my numnah/saddlecloth obsession in summer!
I am also considering this walker rug option for lunging as last night my boy didn't get worked cos it was chucking it down and I had planned to lunge so wasn't dressed to ride!
If anyone has either would be interested to hear what size horse what size rug.... Ideally I need one that will fit my 14.2 and my 16.2 which shouldn't be impossible as my 14.2 usually wears a 6' rug and my (short coupled!) 16.2 is still in a 6'3!

I have an equitheme soft shell walker rug

This is fantastic as waterproof without being crinkley sounding material, is lovely and lightweight. Plus I'm just a big softshell fan!

I use mine when riding one and leading one.

Polypad duo numnah/exercise sheet! I bought one of these a few years ago specifically to use when lunging in the winter. Although not waterproof, it's fairly thick so even in the heaviest rain it would take some time to 'soak to the skin'. Here's a link to one - it looks very short in this pic, mine is a bit short but no where as much as this pic would indicate.
