Is it allowed? Im pretty certain it is but wondering where it's allowed to be done? I saw someone doing it in the lorry park and the dressage warm up last time....? Or am I expected to ask on the day?

Horse is being too fresh for the dressage as he knows the fun bits are coming soon after! Wondering if I should lunge him so he can have a blow out before I get on?

Last question is - am I allowed to just lunge in his usual tack with side reins attached from the girth?

Yes lunging is allowed just in as quiet a spot as you can find or in the warm up if room.

It states in the rule book what you can lunge in but side reins to the saddle is allowed, Pessoa etc is not.

Oh ok, I wanted to know about the Pessoa too. Thanks, will just take the side reins

Side reins allowed...pessoa not? What a stupid rule!

Just had a look at the rule book and it only talks about side or running reins and they must be attached only to the sides of the horse and not between the legs.

Surely a chambon would not be allowed as it is fixed between the legs?

If you can find a rule that says it can be used please let me know as i would like to use it.

whooops I always attach mine through the legs!!

Especially with Mac but as he is going now I spose I better go with the rules and just clip them to the side!!

Page 39 of the rule book.

"Single direct side reins are permitted only while lungeing (only with one lunge line) as are running reins and chambons. Other martingales, any other kind of gadget (such as
bearing, side or balancing reins, etc.) and any form of blinkers, are forbidden, under penalty of disqualification."
