lungie bungie

Hate these as an aid.... everyone thinks they are so kind - exatly the opposite and usually inflict a load of pain on the poor horse

Please please please read about them fully before you use one

thanks

Can I ask why? I have used one with much more succes than side reins.

They don't go in an outline straight away unless it's way too tight. And it's not forced with lots of movement allowed unlike sidereins or idiots using draw reins. And as someone said let's you use consistent contact.

We had a horse come to us recently. A 4yo unbroke backwards horse who already had a ewe neck and zero hind end. After starting his ground work it was apparent that head up in the air was going to further strengthen the ewe neck. At least with this he could start learning to carry himself in a beneficial way. He's not been muscle sore or looked uncomfortable. It doesn't force them into one fixed position. So what would you do instead with this horse? Carry on letting his natural way of going keep building incorrect muscle? He was like a giraffe. It was on for 3 weeks. Horse is now in just a plain snaffle going beautifully without the bungee. I don't see a point in building incorrect muscle you have to then spend years fixing. That's not very kind or productive. I know he had no sore muscles because this owner likes her horses to have back treatments. He didnt need treating at this time via back person's assesment.

There is a big differance between a LUNGIE bungie and a standard bungie. The Lungie bungie is more like elastic side reins on a system which mean the horse can not lean on either rein. This is a LUNGIE bungie better than side reins imho
