In the past my boy has been a complete pain to lunge.

He used to buck and rear and would nerver lunge on the right rein he just used to turn in and go the other way.

Well...

I have recently moved yards for various reasons and today....it was like i was lunging a different horse.

He walked, troted and catered on the left and right rein with NO problems. He was listening to my voice and all comands i gave him.

Im going to start introducing a roller and side reins gradually...im so proud of him

Awwww thats great...maybe he is more relaxed? My boy was exactly the same at old yard...i moved him and he has become a totally different horse. He now lunges both reins without turning in on me. I did use to have so many problems he use to go crazy on the one rein and use to be really hard to hold him. I have been at my new yard about a month now and in that time he has now allowed me to back him and everything without any probs.

I think it is just the change of scenary! He has just calmed down completly he is a different horse... I think it may have made a difference that the yard is alot quieter and smaller, so we have a bit more privacy and one on one time
