Came across the draw rein method the other day on here so decided to have a go to see if it makes any difference to his topline ... or lack of :o Only usually lunge once in a blue moon when theres no were to ride or something, but were going to lunge once or twice a week to see if it helps. But was wondering if anyone canters in the draw reins? Just stayed in walk and trot today as hes never had a lunging aid on so was a bit baffled to start with, stomping his feet like a big baby

Usually lunge like this, ... not tracking up, lazy just in general, not using his bottom

And today,... actually tracking up on the lunge and nice and engaged behind which he isnt usually on the lunge

He actually enjoyed it when he got used to it :p he was even trying to canter which he doesnt usually do, well without being asked to anyway lol ... Hes still needs to stretch down more but for the first time he was a good boy :) he stretched alot more in walk at the end though, I thought he was goin to stand on the contraption  lol

okey dokey then we shall do canter next time :) he'll love that, ... I think it may help with his trot to canter aswell as he likes to jump into his canter when being ridin and flings his head up for a stride!

Did it help build topline on yours Blinky01?

It did, and suppleness and general softness :) Topped up by going in the bungee a few times too....though he's never a hugely top heavy horse but it did help him :)

Course I've not kept up with it and mainly been jumping lately, so all gone again lol.

yup, i do but i have the kalvalkade traing aid which is exactly same, really helps her to reach forward and down and gets back swinging.

the reviews are sounding good :) ... wait till you see it'll probably not make any difference to mine haha but am hoping it will  ... Mondays usually his day off so when I tacked him up and headed to the arena he was a bit baffled and was probably thinking " Er love the fields the other way :p " haha bless him but he did enjoy it and was full of beans for a change ... he'll be doin more work now mwahahahaha ... im evil :p

That looks much improved. :)

Can I also recommend buying a Chambon? They are cheap are really easy to use - although best get someone who's used one before to show you how the first time.

They work really well, and my horse goes nicely in his (although I lunge on a slopey field, so not as consistent as yours is!) and it won't jab them in the mouth in they trip (important for me) like a pessoa can. :)
