It's really common in my part of Surrey as reflected on this map. I knew little about it until 15 years ago when a friend lost a dog to lungworm. It was a shock to her and to me. It's one of the things that I am very hot on keeping them up to date with cover for.

As we have found out recently, it's endemic in our part of South Wales according to our vet. One of our dogs was very ill with a hemorrhage caused by this. Just undertaking round 2 of the treatment to deal with them.

350 odd near me.

I honestly know nothing about it other than it being linked to eating slugs and snails?

Is it covered by Drontal?

simparica trio doesn't
droncit is tapeworm only
bravecto is fluralener (idk how to spell that sorry) so doesnt
milprazon is prazi based i think

you need something containing imidacloprid and moxidectin. can't remember the dose though. I think there's different recommended protocols depending on how common it is to you and the age of the dog. (someone with more dog knowledge than me please confirm) so best to ask your vet what they'd recommend.
Thank you. I will speak to the vet next time one of them needs a repeat. Looking at the map, we are a low risk area at the moment thankfully.

I’ve just read the Simparica Trio data sheet and it says it does cover lungworm.

I’ve just got a puppy, and he’s licking slugs in the garden (until I get to him).
He’s had milbemax before I got him (Monday) but my area seems to be the worst in the country, so I’ll check with the vets about next dosage.
Any ideas on how to stop him!? He also eats how own poo if I can’t get to it first.
