Poppy the gorgeous bedlington whippet. A lovely lovely girl, sadly when my ex and i split he kept her. Wonderful, loving, stubborn, fun, aloof, friendly, fantastic at cuddles and so fast she was awesome. Wonderful wonderful dogs, 17 inches to the shoulder so small enough to cuddle up with, but big enough to be a 'proper' dog. she will run for hours, or sleep for 24/7. In fact what ever you want to do, she will do. Easy to have around and a wonderful friend.

Oh Cluny, that made my heart stop for a moment, I thought I was looking at a picture of Teasel! She's the spitting image! Beautiful...

Teasel is the dog that is missing (see other thread). We're beside ourselves with worry...

She's on facebook, and dog lost - links are on the other thread. Please, please, please help us find her. Sorry to have to ask, I know you'll understand how desperate we are to have her back home with us.

My beautiful Lola was the best decision we ever EVER made!!! No idea what she is but defo saluki... Possibly whippet? She has calmed down lots since going through her first season - she is very loyal but does suffer with seperation anxiety (made worse by me), she is very sensitive and fantastic round my 18 month old daughter, very quick learner but is easier to train with toys as a reward as she is not food orientated!, she is accident prone (most recent running into a dry stone wall... Duh!), she is self cleaning!! Literally, she can be covered in mud and by the time we're home she WILL be clean! I don't know if its her fine hair?, she never barks, never aggressive towards other dogs - either wants to play or runs away!! Very ditzy!!!! I am very biased - but I love them!!!!

I think I must be lucky with my saluki/greyhound x whippet. He is 13 months old now, has brilliant recall (called him back successfully from a started deer chase two days ago), loves everybody and everything, never attacked the furniture and has even stopped trying to relandscape the garden. He always runs off lead unless we are near traffic and has a lively terrier to spar and run with which probably helps keep him sane. He loves ball games and training and I hope we can soon start agility. Best balanced most fun dog I have ever had. And I am well beyond pensionable age!

The best dogs in the world! I was always a gun dog person till I got Dylan. This is him on his first ever visit to the beach. Straight over the sand and out into the water where he proceed to run that fast it looked like he was flying :D

Hes also a complete and utter clown!

Hes game for anything! Earlier on in the day he'd been to a fun show and won loads with my 8yr old niece doing most of the handling.

Hes smallish, doesnt really shed noticeably, doesnt smell, will run for 20 mins or 4 hours, and when hes not out on a run, hes flat out asleep, or laid gazing lovingly at me. He adores me beyond words, but he loves everyone he meets without expection. Person or dog. He is a genuinely happy and friendly soul.

The down sides are, hes frighteningly clever. A behaviourist described him as a canine genuis. He is very well trained, but only when it suits him. He can be soo blumming willful and defiant, there are days when I seriously consider giving him to the gypsies! But hes 10months old, and its a horrid age for a lurcher! :D He is also a kleptomaniac. If he was a person he'd be in prison or therapy! Nobody mention the kitkats he stole out of a closed drawer, which was wedged shut behind other furniture!

He suffered terribly with separation anxiety for about 3 months and despite trying literally everything nothing seemed to help, then about the 7 month mark, just seemed to mature and it went away, now when I go out, he crashes out on the bed. Hes also car sick, but we dont go out in the car often, so thats not something thats had chance to go away. Hes also a bed hog and insists on tunneling down under the duvetd

I adore him, hes the love of my life. The best dog I've ever, ever owned, and I would never have any other type of dog now!

I agree - best dogs ever. I've got 3 at the moment - a beautiful, healthy 17 year old that I had from the dogs' home, an eleven year old mostly whippet and a 6 year old whippet/greyhound. I adore them - wouldn't have any other breed. They are quiet, don't need much exercise, but are more than happy to walk all day if we want, they hardly shed but you have to be willing to share your bed and sofas with them! My favourite part of any day is curling up on the sofa in the evening, with my 'little' boy on my lap. I've got two bitches and a neutered dog. I love my bitches but my dog is the most affectionate ad friendly thing you'll ever come across. When the old girl goes, OH is adamant that we're having a long haired lurcher - I need persuading!!
