Has anyone used them? Experiences good or bad??

I like the look of them as they cover the entire hoof, but looks as though they have holes so that air can still get to the sole?

Ive found them here:

as long as the foot is dry and clean when a pad is applied it doesnt really matter about getting air to the sole.. To be fair, i can imagine alot of crap getting into the sole and cause thrush.

Nailed! I hoped you would be about to comment!

Do you think the Equi- pack would be the best option? Also, roughly, how much is it? - her feet arent all that huge... x

Life story coming up!.......

Shes currently on natural balance shoes, and has been for a while. (we had an issue just over a year ago, where farrier went back to normal shoes and this caused her to go really pottery again)

Back then we were adament it was her shoulder (as she was finding it very hard to turn), but Xrays showed the shoes were unbalancing her (she also had a very very small spur on navicular, but vet said it really is small and wouldnt classify it as navicular), so the farrier put NB on again, ensuring they are placed well back and xrays showed this was much better and she returned to work...

She has been fine over the winter, with the soft ground, going XC absolutly flying...

Over Easter bank holiday she was due to be shod, so went over her due date and was quite pottery at the same time. (we had done XC the day before and ground was a little hard too).

I thought new shoes would sort, but a week later she is still lame being turned on a circle... or turning in general and very short on a hard surface.

Farrier said it is probably hard ground again and to take it easy (I have done nothing with her for 10 days) ... im also wondering if the navicilar could be changing....this time she is shorter on her near fore, and it was the off fore which showed the navicular spur??

I would like to try some sort of pad to see if it helps with the hard ground. I used to use the IBEX ones before last year.

Cookie and coffee for getting this far! xx
