Beast came in yesterday with a tree trunk leg, unable to put weight on it and refused to let anyone near it. After getting over my squeaking fit , rang the vet who said its either a black thorn or lymphangitis. He is on bute and anti-inflams and is being poulticed. I am walking him in hand a few times a day on long walks (am tired now!) .
I am so worried its lymphangitis, old RS horse had it and she was always being bandaged, had a fatty fetlock and was always being jabbed on a just in case basis. Known few more with it and its a pain to deal with IMO. I have been worried that his diet might cause a small deal of bog standard stable leg (adlib haylege and stabled at night) but didnt expect an oak for a leg!
eek eek eek panic panic eeeeek
thoughts, suggestions ideas?? Plz?
