Hi

Our horse had a lump come up on her throatlatch and within 8 weeks it is now quite large, the size of a tennis ball. The vet came and thought it was an abcess and tried to drain it and nothing. The lump was then scanned and the still couldn't tell us what it was and said they needed a 2nd opinion.

We have just had a biopsy done and it as now been confirmed after the 2nd opionion that it's a Lymphosarcoma and then will be in touch with us on Thursday following the results of even more tests.

She as been put on anitibiotics. We have had the mare quite a few years and she as never been ill etc. Before Christmas she did have a very bad dose of colic and she as lost a little bit of her spark.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Stace, I'm sorry to hear that your horse has been diagnosed with lymphosarcoma. I have known one horse who developed this, she had lumps on her chest and under her throat and would often cough and did get repeated colic as well as losing condition. She deteriorated rapidly and by the time the owner discovered what it was the decision had been made to pts.

I wish I had a better ending to tell, I would wait and see what the vet has to say on Thursday and see what you are dealing with. xx
