As title, has anyone been to this? I would think of going as a spectator tickets £10 but as it's a long way for me to go, in Kent, wonder if anyone has been to this before and if it's any good/worth it??? Also it doesn't have much of a description of what's included.

I went to watch last year, I watched the coloureds and cobs and am taken my boy to it this year eeeek!!

It was really good and she made it fun to watch, but the look on some of the owners/riders faces when she hacked off inches from tails he he.

She asked and answered lots of questions and gave an evaluation of each horse/rider based on turnout, confirmation, ring skills, Lynn covered all sorts and was really helpful and was happy to talk to us afterwards about our horses so worth going and you can go for a shop while you are there. If you see the cobs you can watch my boy embarass me and tank me off around the school to while she pulls us to pieces.

I have a cob but would only take him to little local shows as I don't have transport, just would like to get some pointers on turnout and what you are supposed to do in the ring etc.

Would love to spend the day with someone who does cob showing to see what goes on, how to get them ready etc, been to a couple of local shows to watch but don't know anyone who actually 'does it'!

Have entered 2 showing classes last year where we were pretty rubbish! First one was a show hunter class as the cob class was restricted to 15.1, was told it was totally the wrong class for my horse and he should have been in the cob class!!! I KNEW THAT but he was too big and as and I didn't want to jump didn't have much choice on classes to enter!

Then the next show had a cob class with no height restriction but we came a dismal last as he napped all the time!

Jen, I have the same problem. My boy is 16.1 so sometimes am stuck for classes if there is a hight limit so go in the hunters and workers. Some of the judges had mixed views on this, I had some who were like 'he is a cob ehh' but others who were really encouraging and saying that they are looking for a horse that would be suitable for a days hunting which he is and sometimes is the only one in the class that does hunt lol!

I turned up at a largish local show last summer and the cobs were restricted but I just asked the secretary if I could enter my Maxi and they had no problem with it at all and we were placed 2nd, because the judge prefered bays to greys lol but i nearly missed out altogether.

So I am going to ask the secretary before hand this year if I can enter instead of being put off so go for it, some may surprise you and let you join in. Enjoy and good luck and if you come along come and say hi!!!

I am going to but taking my Cob. Will probably be his first time out ever and I just want some tips and pointers as I would really like to show him this year.

Luckily I will be going with Drummer so we can keep each other company. Really not sure how George is going to react but if he has his buddy Drummer there hopefully it will keep him calm!!!

He he Drum will not keep calm though so don't want his over enthusiasticness (hm?) rubbing off on Georgey. I am scared ah!
