I am so angry.Found a lovely little mare for my daughter offered a price which she declined and she came back at her best price. We agreed yesterday we were both happy with the arrangements that we had made so I phoned today and left a message that I was pleased to agree to terms and would be over to discuss final arrangements tonight at 6.30.I contacted the owner of our loan pony who has a field all waiting and wants to have her home again and bought/bid on ebay for a wintec saddle as new horse was likely to change shape as she has been out of work.6 oclock I get a phone call asking for more money I dont think so! I thought we had a gentlemans agreement.I have one very upset teenager who is distraught at sending her beloved loan pony home and hasnt got a new horse to replace and fill the void.I also have a new wintec saddle which will shortly be delivered.arghhhhhhhhh

How rude of the seller, I guess unless you leave a deposit she can do this though. Just wait until she can't sell it and gets back to you, then offer her less than you had agreed.

I was told
price wasnt the issue ,the home is more important and we sounded perfect for her .
Stupid me I took it all in .Silly girl was to frightened to get on its back because it spooked the once and she fell off.She left it for 6 months in the field then expected someone else to be able to get straight on poor thing was lunged to death.
Im pleased for not budging on the price she now wants the full asking price ,nobody will give her the full price everyone makes a offer.Offered it with a saddle that didnt fit as well. She will lose more than the difference in cost in 3 mths livery so short sighted.

Short sighted and stupid, but there are so many of them. We were really lucky with the last two we bought, three years apart, both from lovely people and great genuine horses (but I am just boasting now

I'm sorry but that's all it is and it doesn't mean anything.

Yes the seller is extremely out of order but at the end of the day, s/he can do what s/he likes in terms of selling price until the money is handed over, whether or not it's the 'done' thing.

They're contractually bound to the price initially agreed - if you really want the horse then get legal with them
