So I did my first medium yesterday, came away with a regional qualifying score so happy happy! Now planning to do same year next weekend, but the venue is running a two day show, medium and above on day two. So first test is the same test as I did yesterday, m61. Only other medium is 75, I can have a look at it when I get home but what is in it and does it ride nicely? Don't want to over face either of us with something too tricky, equally if I could do two tests I would prefer too. Thoughts please...?! Yesterday's was M61 so quite a difference I would imagine.... Thank you 😊
 
I thought M75 had been withdrawn? I could be wrong as I'm not competing this year but had it in my head that M76 replaced it?

M75 is a nice test but a notch up from the others. Flows really nicely. Entry is in canter and your SCs are from a half 20m counter canter circle
 
yep 75 is still around this year. 76 is just an addition.

I like 75 but it took me a while before I could ride it well. Flows nicely when the training is in place and I find it easy to remember - bonus :lol:
 
75 is the Regionals test and certainly takes some practice. I did it as my 2nd ever Medium and it was tough! It has absolutely everything in it and it all comes up quick. I do like it as it flows well but not an easy option!
 
Okay thanks! I had a look last night, it certainly does have everything in it! Going to peruse the test for a couple of days and have a play at riding through parts of it. To me it doesn't sound like it flows but from what you say it does ride nicely, if you can do the movements. Decisions decisions! Will report back what we decide and how it goes if you like. 😃 If anyone is interested, I do have a Facebook page, won't post the link though unless you guys say so, I'm not sure il allowed too?
 
Why not? Quite a few of us keep a log of out horses on fb and it's nice to see what everyone else is up to :)
 
My page is 'Milla Stevens dressage', i can't work out how to post a link because it's on the Facebook app.... 🤔 I have been brave and entered both mediums, I rode through m75 yesterday and I did think it rode quite nicely, although looking at the test sheet i didn't think it would..so I will see how we get on with it! 🙏 Possibly an 'interesting' report to come, and I always get my tests videoed, so I may be able to provide photographic evidence as well...if all else fails I can resort to you've been framed 😂

Okay so we did it today! Chuffed with m61, even with -2 for no bridle number 😡 Could have kicked myself!! And an error of course, kicked myself again, was really happy with 63.98% and 2nd. Then m75, was really beyond our capabilities at the moment, canter work lovely and flowing, half pass, counter canter 1/2 circle, simple change all really nice. Bit sticky in walk piri's, which was super expensive, for literally just under 60%. Doesn't sound wonderful, but only second medium tests, and m75 certainly tested us, but actually seriously happy! 😃
