Mac Boots

Hope someone can help. I need to buy mac boots for my gelding, and I'm not sure about measuring. The vet has taken his shoes off but he needs a trim which he can't have until the end of next week when he's in less pain. Can I measure his shoes to get the correct size, or will I have to wait until he's trimmed.

Unless his feet are really really long it shouldn't matter

Actually yes it does matter?! You need to measure him after a trim; look on this website, it will show you the different types of boots and how to measure;

If you put up a bit more info about why the horse is sore, and why it was the vet who took the shoes off etc it would be easier to offer advice.
