Well the dressage was a no show on Sunday morning due to the weather, would you Adam and Eve it after I spent all Saturday afternoon running around the outdoor school like some deranged nut case learning my test...great for keeping fit though, I must of burnt off loads of calories! while my friends watched out their window from one of the houses near the livery yard in stitches wondering what on earth I was doing...well they knew as they were also going to the dressage also, but couldn't resist ringing me on my mobile and asking me what test I was doing because if I was doing the same as them...I was going wrong... several times!
Yes I sprang out of bed at 7:30am and looked out of my window (after I'd spent the evening getting all my clobber ready, hand washing my stock in the kitchen sink, cleaning my bridle and running through the test a 1000 times in my mind etc etc all excited) and what did I see when I looked out of the bedroom window?, blooming white roof tops and twinkling window ledges! and thought
''Phew! the good old British weather has saved me, god has spared me from the evil clutches of the dressage judge perched in her little wooden box tapping her pen eagerly waiting to put a big fat 0% on my test sheet''
I said to the the OH who was half asleep, he grunted some unknown language, f*arted and rolled over and fell back asleep again.
as only a true man does!
But I was un-deterred and shoe horned my shrunken white jods on, banged some slap on, bunged everything in the car, carefully drove down to the yard and as I passed a car that was literally bent round a lamp post in the next village I decided it was too icey for a 45 minute hack up to the competition centre at 8:15 in the morning!....my test time as at 9:36 so instead of having a little bit of a lay in on Sunday morning I was down at the yard mucking out and bedding down before the YO was even up, I think he thought I must of sh*t the bed to be down there and mucking out at that time lol! even Mackenzie had a look of shock/horror
as I put his head collar on and turned him out lol.
So for all those wishing me the best of luck for Sunday and wondering how we got on...well it didn't happen I'm afraid and spent the rest of the day sulking because I was really looking forward to doing his first dressage test and having another outing with him again, of course by 10/11am the ice had melted and sun came out but for me to be up there, warmed up and ready for a 9.36 test it was impossible.
So no reports...and no pictures guys sorry
