I love my MacWet gloves, they really are cracking.

However, having been wearing them round the yard (and not just for riding) they are starting to get holes in the tips of the forefingers.

What kind/type of gloves do you wear to do yard duties in ?

All recommendations welcomed.

Thanks

I love my macwets too but i have a pair of woof wear neoprene fingerless ones for doing jobs on the yard, although they are fingerless my fingers dont get cold cos your hand is kept so warm.

I've tried a few tack shops around my area to buy a pair, and no luck yet.... i have heard the m.w gloves are good, and great for riding in!!

hmm.i use Joules fingerless ones. they are really thick and warm (aapart from the fingers!) but it means all fiddly stuff can be done without having to take them off!

MacWet's are great, best gloves ever!! but far to expensive for every day use!!!! I save mine for comp. only!! There are other gloves out there for yard work and even riding at home!! Save the MacWet's for special ocasions (sp?)

So am now using ariat gloves and they are fab use them everyday at work (4 lots, 6 days a weeks) and have used them for about 4/5 months now without a single hole or sign of use!!

The MacWets are great, but only use them for riding at competitions. I can't use rubber reins in the ring, so when it is wet and the cobs are all galloping on the go round, I really need something that doesn't slip on leather reins and they are fab. They also dry really fast, so that you can wear them in a class, they can get wet through, and are dry within an hour for the next class.

I would never wear them around the yard though!

Macwets dont work at all with eventagrip reins so I think theyre rubbish personally!

I love the ariat ones and when I went to replace them was tempted by the macwets. I wish I hadn't as the first time I used them was at an XC comp and I could barely hold the reins. I used to like the Toggi Eventa ones but they wore down really quickly.

I then went out and bought a very cheap pair from Decathlon (about £7) which are like a rubbery material (the same as the Musto Comp gloves) and they are better than any I have ever had before. Wear them daily and they are still like new.

i bought Macwets, I rode in the manage and had to go and change them as they were terrible, and that was in the dry.!!

Walker1234, I bought mine to use with eventa reins, wont bother trying though when wet as sounds like its going to be suicidal.

I bought some neoprene ones for the wet, and got Dublin for everyday from my secret santa buddy.

I liked the close feel of my macwets but they did get holes in quite quickly and I didn't use them for anything else but riding in.

I now wear Roeckls as they have a similar feel but are more hard wearing.

i dont like my macwets - v disappointed considering the price. fine to school at home in, but wore them hunting in the rain and it was suicidal even with rubber reins. they were fine last week in the dry, but good in the wet they most certainly are not!
