she looks like the real thing now. She now does her spins, reinbacks, flying changes without a bridle :) Will film it and post it if anyones interested. I didnt have the camera with me when Poldo tried her bridleless for the first time so ill post these instead.

she will stand there all day waiting for her next command. She always halts square too :)I wasn't into western 'things' at all till I bought her on the spur of the moment (I was looking for an allrounder and certainly not a QH.) Sheer madness but its turned out fun :)

Wow what great pics, would love to see a video sometime, how long have you had her and how do you find the western bit, I have had people tell me it might help me to try doing western but not sure :)
I bought her when she was 7 months old. Poldo (trainer) hardly touches her mouth when riding, its all done using his weight and leg movements-you can barely see any movement when he's working her, looks like she's doing it all on her own! Why not go to a good trainer and have a lesson, you may like it!

:D I love all these progress reports, and yes please, I would LOVE to see the video.

So, when is her competition debut?

Such a lovely little mare and you landed on your feet with your trainer too! :)

Sweet mare, how old is is she? she has a kind face.

Hope you don't mind me asking but what are the black bags in the last photo? I thought they were haylage at fist but then I noticed they were wrong shape and I don't have a clue what else they could be.

the 'orrible black bags are full of shavings! He goes to the woodmill and bags the shavings himself -saves a fortune :)
Madam is three and a half now.

She went to a comp for 2 days at the start of August although she didn't partake. It was an exercise to see how she coped with the madding crowds etc. she behaved very well and worked in the warm up ring exactly like she does at home so full marks to her and Poldo :). I'm hoping we can get her out competing by the end of September but until Poldo doesn't feel she's 100 per cent perfect, we wont be going anywhere....:(

Quite so, no point until then, full marks to Poldo for not rushing her. :)

Is he local to you or do you have to travel far to visit?

I wish I had someone like him close by me, around here it is penning, games and roping etc more than anything that they are into, and the one reining trainer (very successful I might add) we do have is not someone I'd send a horse to. He gets the results for sure, but his horses are spiritless and depressed (as opposed to mellow) :(
