Made fun of for liking horses?

Yes teased at school for having a horse share, and then bullied at pony club for having a coloured (then seen as common and not popular!). Not much advise as I really differed but it dies get better, and uni is fab, you are, accepted for almost anything there!

I was teased through school as I wouldn't go out drinking on the streets on a Friday, Saturday night as I had to be up early to do pony.

What makes me laugh is two of the biggest perps now ride...not very well mind LOL

Nah, my issue is with guys who when i say "going riding", meet me with the response of "OI OI."

My daughter got this sort of thing from a guy.

I suggested she reply with "they are a better ride" or something similar.

It shut him up.

Back to the orginal question, I have heard this a lot from kids these days. In my day (and I am old now) us horsey people stuck together and thought we ruled the world. We were proud to be seen out in grubby jods on a saturday afternoon. God help anyone who commented on it.

Lionman - here here!! One thing I realised quickly is the world (to some people) is just one big school yard. Stupid comes in all ages and sexes.

I was teased at school for anything and everything, from my love of horses, my hair colour, the clothes I wore on free dress day, because I didn't smoke or drink, etc, etc (long and boring list).

It seems to be human nature to tease, belittle and make fun of for some bizzare ego trip I will never understand.

My dad once yelled at me during an argument "if it doesn't involve horses your not interested". I failed to see the problem with this :p

I know most of you being adults probably don't but when you were younger were you ever made fun of for liking horses? Or do you know of any children or even your own children that do? Well I do and I'm starting yo wonder what people's problems are with horses? It's quite upsetting :/

I was "horse mad" at school and yes got made fun of - a lot. I don't know why horses get that reaction but there you go. I just had to ignore it.
