Hope the above link works - its an ad for a mare currently in HHO. One look and I cried, such a sad little pic and what is a twisted neck? I couldn't bring myself to breed from her even though suggested....

PLEASE SOMEONE BUY HER...

I feel awful now

very sad - looks like it grew into its headcollar at some point too.
Can't imagine breeding from it though....

and if I were the owner I would be loaning it to ensure it didn't fall into the wrong hands....but that's just me (no, if I am honest I would have PTS a long time ago)

Poor mare.

I wonder why her neck is twisted? Surely she wasn't born like that? If she was, then she's not exactly broodmare material in my view!

Wouldn't say she was a bargain at £750 either.

Totally agree

Maybe a racing accident / injury can cause a twisted neck ?

Blimey - I put that mobile number into Google and it came back with 37 hits - they're busy people standing a stallion of unknown breeding and selling lots of horses.......

Sort of says it all, really.......

Advertise a horse you've bred and bred from, allowed to get thin and that is deformed making out it's a rescue case and hope someone has more compassion than you and buys it. Poor, poor animal.

if she was cheap as chips i would take her but i wouldn't pay £750 for her, hope someone can give her a loving home :'(

Put the poor thing needs to be put to sleep.....
these bloody adverts really p1ss me off..

as they always attract the "ahh" factor ...

just do the decent thing, DON'T SELL THE DAMN THING ON, don't try and make money on the back of tragedy you spineless individual.......

am agreeing with you jm07

, mare looks at best from head shot weedy and not the sort to breed from , never mind its heads not attatched straight , ( usually from birth , i,ve never heard of a horse ending up like that after an accident ) if they are compassionate rescuers they,d keep the poor thing , or pts , putting it back on the market is not what i would do

I agree with JM and Mother_Hen...I would firstly never breed from her...she may have been broodmare quality but after her sad life, how can you tell? Secondly, I can't imagine her having a useful working life...and the 'twisted neck' aspect is a real concern.
Unless someone wants a paddock ornament (and she's paddock sound) then PTS would be best.

DON'T ANYONE ON HERE DARE ENCOURAGE THE SELLER BY GIVING MONEY FOR HER!

Would be good to have seen the whole of the horse. Makes you wonder

I too agree with the PTS here as the conformation of that poor mare's neck is awful. It looks to have a ewe neck as well as being twisted. Cannot even imagine why someone would have bred from her as well in that state as surely carrying a pregnancy and giving birth must have put a strain on her neck muscles and where the vertebrae join the spine to the neck. This mare should have been pts a long time ago and certainly should not have been used as a money making machine - ie breed foals from- to be then sold to make yet more money.
To be honest I would hope that if the owner doesn't put her down that someone can offer money for her ( don't mean £750 as that amount is far too much, she ain't worth that) and then have her pts.
