Made to measure saddles.......

I have been having trouble getting a saddle that fits my mare and have decided that getting one made to measure may be the way to go.

The trouble is that I don't have a clue of where to start looking for someone who makes saddles, can anyone give me names of people / companies in the Essex area?

I had mine made to measure by Heather Moffatt's company. The rep that I used was Sue Care, 07779 970193.

Generally you'd go through your local saddler for this. Its always worth ensuring they're a master saddler though!

But basically, unless you're sure of what make you want, they'll bring out a selection to try... establish which tree shape suits your horse.. what style suits you and then they take the measurements that get sent off to the company in question.

There are some saddles whereby you would need to contact their reps specifically (the wow saddles, the Fheonix as mentioned above also), but unless you know exactly what you're after, the best bet is to go through a saddler
