Made to measure saddles?

Hi all, I've got a problem, I've got a 15.2hh tbx Welsh who has a very short back! I'm 5.8 and I don't fit in any off the peg saddles below 17.5" as I have a very short torso and long hip to knee! My saddle is sadly too long and we had a fitter out to try saddles but if a saddle fitted the horse it was too short for me!
This leaves us with made To measure, I can't afford a lovely French saddle so I'm looking for a small saddle maker with small prices!
Probably looking for the impossible but if all fails I will get a small saddle but it'll have to be a seriously flat seat to avoid throwing the saddle about!

I had a saddle made by northumbria equine, made to measure was about £1200, I've not seen any much cheaper than this and it is a LOVELY saddle. I had it made extra forward cut as I have a long hip to knee ratio and had an inch taken off the cantle so it was better for XC. I adore mine and they make them all totally for you having come out to fit the tree to the horse so you know it fits. Highly recommend.
 
A solution saddle has solved my very long legs on a 14.2 with huge shoulders problem. A fitting is very good value and you could then decide to buy second hand. I have the eventer and my coach has been jumping my cob over metre tracks in it, and he is 6ft3!
 
I have the same long hip to knee problem and had my jump saddle fully m2m by Ryder Saddles. I've had it a few months now and it looks immaculate. Prices range from £2000 - £2200. The fitter was very good and the craftsmanship is brilliant.

Thank you wheels, I tried a wow on a previous horse a few years ago and I wasn't too keen on how far away I felt from the horse this was a good ten years ago so it may have changed and definitely worth a look thank you
 
You may not need made to measure, you need a model, panel style and fitter who is used to short backs and adult riders, an upswept panel design is very short and may work for your horse.
