Well, Jerry is home finally. Vet is still very concerned, but really didnt find anything out other than he had some blood in his bladder, and it was very small, the smallest she had ever seen a horse's bladder.

She scanned and scoped him, and wanted to get a biopsy of the bladder wall, but was too worried about puncturing it as it was so tight. She has taken more samples and sent them off for more tests, and is treating him for cystitis even though she said it was so rare in horses.

Hopefully it will turn out to be that and the antibiotics will clear it up, or the tests will shed some light on it.

Glad he is back home, but frustrating for you that you still don't really know whats wrong. Keeping fingers crossed the antibiotics do the job. Wonder if cranberry juice would work for horses ?!

Glad to hear that you have him home and that he is OK. Well yes, cystitis its a thought. I hope that it is the end of it now and the anti-biotics clear it up nicely. I`d try and give him some apple lites or similar to get him to drink more to flush it through his system. Good luck.

Thing is he is very suspisious of me putting anything in his water, tried yesterday and made him snort at it, so think its best to just give him plain old water.

He has soaked hay so is getting quite a bit of liquid from that, vet wants him out as much as possible, but then its hard to see how much he is peeing/drinking
