Magic Brush ...

One word = FANTASTIC!!!! :D

They are smashing, you can use them on clipped or unclipped horses, they get mud, coat and sweat off with no scrubbing, and they last forever!

Mine arrived today *happy dance* going to go try them out shortly! I'm SO sick of trying to remove dried mud, I really hope they help!
 
What makes it so good compared to a normal brush? Could be good for my minis as they are total mud monsters, combined with being ridiculously hairy I've almost given up trying to get mud out of their coats!
 
They're an overpriced, very simple idea - but they've got the market cornered, and sounds like they do a fantastic job, so can't really complain! At about £5 a brush (and they're sets of 3) they're very dear (particularly for such a simple plastic brush!), but if you look on ebay often people sell individual ones - or you could split a set with a friend. I've just bought three, but then I need them in at least two places, so eh. I just hope they're as good as they sound!
 
Mine arrived yesterday and to be honest they are the same hardness of a dandy brush ... which means the mare will beat me to death if i try and groom her with them! Unless im missing something i was expecting something a bit more 'magic'!!
 
Oooeeer am I the only one who didnt like the brush! ...Tried it on my hairy highland, clipped cob and tb, didnt work any magic for me :(
 
I got a set from robinsons after reading the original thread and they do seem to be magic. :-) Really like them and glad i got them.

Yep, someone very sharp has repackaged the old plastic scrubbing brushes you could get from the hardware store for 50p. Very clever, good luck to them!
 
I love mine. I find they really are good for the face areas, my appy is very funny over me brushing her face and she didnt mind it with the magic brush.
 
I'm a convert! The short bristles mean you can get a lot more pressure on and they actually go between the hair and break up mud, just like a plastic curry would if it had 3x as many bristles. I thought it would be rough on the skin, too, but he wasn't really fussed about having his face brushed with it, and normally he hates most brushes on his face. It took about 10 minutes to go from 'bleh' to 'I'd stick a saddle on it' - I've not timed how long it takes with a dandy brush, and nor will I, cos I'll be using this from now on :)

I bought an individual one. For those who have a pack of three brushes is there any difference between them other than colour?

The one thing I don't like about the brush is the sticky-out plastic rim. It makes the brush somewhat uncomfortable to hold. Other than that it is useful.

Different to what?

The bristles are made of the same (piece of) plastic as the handle. Looks like it's moulded and then each 'bristle' (imagine a prong on a plastic curry) is split in 4, making a very dense plastic brush.

Can anyone tell me if the magic brush is much softer than a Dandy brush? One of my TBs is hypersensitive - or pretends to be, who knows? and I have to painstakingly use the softest of brushes on him. Mind you, if the magic brush is hard it will be just the thing for the grey hog who digs a new mudbath in his paddock every day.

So is the magic brush gentle?
 
Definitely not soft, and if you try it on your own skin it's a bit scary, but I found my boy would let me do his face and ears (mostly!) and he hates having them brushed. Some other people said the same earlier in the thread. So I guess get it for the grey, and try it on the TB :)
 
Thanks Floxie! I think I'll order a set for the grey hog, though he really needs an industrial high pressure cleaner. Wish I had the courage to try the vacuum cleaner on him but he'd be offended by the noise, at the very least.
