Can vets blood test for magnesium deficiency?

My magnesium calmer seems to work sometimes and not others even though fed on a daily basis, so would really like to find out if horse actually needs it or not rather than spending more and more money on something pointless.

Thank you.

yeah, but it would be expensive to do on a regular basis. Early summer is when the grass lacks some nutrients and Magnesium is one of them. I just started using pure magnesium from www.supplementsolutions.co.uk. Costs about £18 inc p&p for a 6 months supply, rather than £23 a month or whatever for a calmer with lots of unnececcesary fillers.

Can you tell me which brand of magnesium that is? I typed magnesium into their search window and it said no products, and I don't know where I'd find it. Thanks
