Magnesium supplements?

Which are the most recommended brands to go for as a general daily supplement?

I buy mag ox from natural horse supplies its £12 for the purer stuff and lasts ages.

As far as I am aware, the "big brands" you see in most feed places and tack shops have a very small amount of magnesium in them despite what the labels claim. I would go for mag ox as above, or something like Pro Balance/Pro Hoof which has the rest of your minerals in as well.

I feed magnutude- £20 for 6 months. Must admit though i do sometimes forget to put it in!! :S

Regardless of the brand, research the side effects of feeding magnesium before use.

Or, more usefully, find out whether your grazing is magnesium deficient. Ours is, and having seen the difference feeding Pro Balance makes to their hoof quality I will continue doing so...

Yes, our calcium is very high so I actually feed much more than say magnitude suggests. I was buying pro earth but just bought some from a different supplier on eBay -cheaper and still 98%.

hmmmm, how many bananas =10 gms of Mgo? I think it will be more scientific to feed the mineral, and cheaper, not to mention air miles and carbon footprints.
