So I have a 16.3hh ish gelding (who is very sensitive to noises - so whatever I choose must be quiet) he suffers with a tense back (no medical issues that we are aware of and he shows no signs of pain also the saddle isn't a problem either)
We have tried the equilibrium massage pad but he could hear the noise (even on the low setting) so didnt seem to like it so I was wondering if the magnetic pad or rug would be of any use so I was wondering the following:
1. Would it help with his tense back?
2. Has anyone else got one, if so are they any good?
3. Pros and cons
4. Are they worth it?
5. Should I just stick with the massage pad and play some music or is there a quiter option?
I should also mention he gets a qualified person to check him over regularly and he also does daily stretches to help as well.
TIA

I have both an equilibrium magnetic back pad and also the massage mitt for my 16h 3 TB. I find both really good, and I love it that you can move the magnets to cover the area you need. The magnetic back pad I will put on when he comes in from the field at lunchtime if he looks/feels like he needs it, then leave on until early evening when he is ridden. They are expensive, but I was really lucky and got mine for a bargain at Burghley for half price. My horse also loves the massage mitt too, he frequently gets tight over his abs and ribs from being a lunatic in the field. He was wary of the noise to start with, but I kept using it and now the noise doesn't bother him. I have seen a manual hand held massage thing, similar to a brush size with ball bearing type things on it to move over the muscles. If he doesn't settle with the battery massage mitt, could be worth looking for one of the manual ones.

I have both, but have found that the back on track rug makes a difference, rather than either of those. Not a miracle cure though
