Just was intereested to know people's experiences and opinions of magnetic rugs or pads such as the equilibrium. My horse gets very tight muscle wise across his back and bottom as a result of an old injury. Have a physio but wondered about one of these between visits.

Many thanks!

My boy wears his Equimagnets rug at nights and I do see a real difference.

He also has a session in his massage pad most days too.

My sisters TB has a sticky stifle, and he wears the armadillo magnetic rug overnight when he's stabled. They really do work. The TB and my ISH both wear magnetic leg wraps overnight (when it is cold enough!! ISH did both front suspensories a while back). We have hand held massagers (that sit on top of TBs bum before work) and a massage pad that is occasionally used before work too.

Thank you. Some sites say they should be used for only a couple of hours at a time, but it is ok to use overnight?

This is the one we have.

I think it depends on the severity of the situation; Stars (the TB) stifle locks into place VERY frequently if he doesn't wear it as occasionally as he does. He does not wear it out in the field as he is out and about walking around keeping himself moving; but he is stabled roughly from 4pm till 7am, so being in a stable/lying down etc, the rug stops him from becoming uncomfortable :)

I think you are supposed to start off with a couple of hours and build up to longer times. I started using it just before and after exercise, then for a few hours, then over night.

He's never turned out in it.

I like the equimagnet one because the actual rug is mesh, so it is suitable for use even in the summer months, or for travelling. It also has moveable magnets in pockets so you can target certain areas.
