My mare has been kept in recently due to bad weather. I think she is a bit stiff (over her back and joints) from no turnout and another livery recommended putting a magnetic rug on her for 20 mins.
Has anyone used them before and seen any difference?

I honestly think they’re just a bit of a gimmick. I’ve used to use magnetic rugs and boots etc and never noticed any difference. There’s an article on it here that i think is interesting and I think explains it well https://www.livescience.com/40174-magnetic-therapy.html
Research is still 50/50 on whether or not there is any effect but I just think with the amount of research there’s been on them if they were beneficial we’d know by now. But it’s still debatable whether or not they work. I’ve sold all my magnetic things anyway and won’t be buying anymore unless someone can prove to me they work

I think the reasoning behind 'warm muscles are less stiff' does hold weight but that has nothing to do with the magnets being in the product or not! I think warm blankets or stable wraps can keep joints warm and less stiff - if I was to invest it would be in the likes of the Epiony Heat Pads as its like a nice warming blanket!

I use them because I have them, but truthfully I am not convinced. I would say that getting the horse out and moving a few times a day would be much more effective!

My old horse had all the magnets in the last year of her life. There wasn't a magnet (or anything else) I wouldn't try. She still didn't make it to 30. :( Did they make her more comfortable? Who knows. Some days, I certainly thought so, but there could have been other variables on those days.

There is little evidence that magnetic therapy actually does any good but many people say that they've had good results with their horses. You will struggle to find any scientific evidence though.

Recently bought wraps for my getting old horse even though knew probably they wouldn‘t do anything. Was surprised to see him cantering out to the grass when I put him out instead of walking. May have been other factors but it’s nice to see.

A friend swore magnet wraps made a big difference to her horse so I bought some for Flo. I’m not sure they made any difference but as they don't hurt, I keep them on.

I use a pair of the StreamZ fetlock bands on my boy who has ringbone - wasn't sure if they were making a difference so took them off for a few days - definitely became a bit pottery, so back on they went and all is good.
I've tried the more traditional magnet boots in the past (so the ones that have individual magnets rather than a strip) and can't say that I noticed any difference with using them.

I also use an infrared therapy rug at night (or before riding) and notice a considerable difference (my boy's 20 and is a little more creaky these days) - he is way more supple and relaxed coming out of his stable in the morning versus having a normal stable rug on. They're not cheap but definitely one of my better investments.

Yes I used to use both on the previous horse. The magnetic rug was left at the riding club where my partner worked and was in lost property for about three years. They were having a clear out and were throwing unclaimed stuff away so I was asked if I wanted it by someone who used to work there.

The bioflow boots I used to put on Bailey were very effective although that may have been for the compression effect than anything else but they certainly kept legs down in the summer.
