Hi everyone

I'm contemplating getting a magnetic rug but I want to make sure I spend my money on a decent one
Does anyone recommend a certain brand or know where I can get a decent one that won't cost the earth.

I saw premier equine have one on sale for £120. Has anyone used this one? Are they good?

Thanks

Hi Lorian,
I have also considered magnet therapy, I have a very stressy mare and was considering it to aid relaxation and help healing and muscle recovery. I chatted with my vet (seriously good, always up to date to latest research on EVERYTHING!) and she told me not to waste my money... Said no research has shown any increase in circulation.... I bought an equilibrium massage pad instead and use it everyday.
Sorry I know that's not helpful! When I looked the one that looked pretty powerful was FMBS (I think!!) and it was £2400!

I have the Back on Track mesh rug, and I do find it helps....the advantage of these above the Premier Equine is it can be left on all day / night or even turned out in it, whereas if you read the small print the ones with individual magnets are supposed to be work for a max of 4 hours, and then tied up / not at liberty.
I also use the Back on Track overreach boots for turnout ... and no, I don't work for them!

Hi

I have the premier equine magnetic rug and am very impressed, although I was advised they can wear it up to 4 hours at a time and I certainly would not turn my horse out in it nor leave him in it all day/night.

I use it for 45 mins before exercise and if he hasn't sweated up then he will wear it again after exercise. I can tell the difference when he was worn it before exercise.
Its normally to warm in the summer for him to wear it as he sweats very quickly
My friend occasionally travels her horse in it on the way to events.
