Magnetic rug on horse with pins

I have just bought an Equilibrum magnetic rug (magnets are moveable) but my horse has three pins in the front leg ex racer). I have heard different opinions some saying it’s ok if the magnets aren’t too close to the pins there would not be any interference. Has anybody some experience please. I am not sure what to do.

He should be fine. The pins aren't going to be attractive to something like the magnets in a rug - too far away and just not powerful enough. They might not even be steel pins anyway.
