Anyone use one? What brands are good? Do you use it after or before exercise? How long can they be worn for - can you leave on overnight? Is there one that would be ok to use on a sweaty horse under a Coolex or similar?

Thank you!

I have the premier equine one, can be left on for about 4 hours (i sometimes go over this...oops! not be left on over night though) i have been putting it on in the morning before she is turned out (im up early then she is in her box for a few hours then turned out) works well!

When it gets colder i will be putting a fleece over the top, but they do stay warm under this rug and there are soo many magnets!

I have the PE one too but have never used it as parted with the horse I bought it for.

Anyway, the reason I went for that one was the cost. V reasonable compared to some I looked at.

i have a bioflow for my mare and its fantastic, can be left on overnight once they are used to it and i often use it under a thermatex after riding

I've never heard of magnetic rugs. Could someone please explain?

They're still not scientifically proven, it's all anecdotal. Having said that, I'm a sucker for all the advertisers blurb if it's to do with the care of my horses, and have bioflow stable boots for one of mine who's legs swell overnight when stabled and after hard work. The bioflows were helping massively and I was almost convinced until I lent them out to a friend with an injured horse and I put non magnetised gaters onto my puffy leg horse and the non magnetised boots also reduced the swelling and horse seemed supple and was no stiffer than when the bioflows had been on, so I'm still not convinced its worth spending £500+ on a bioflow rug. If money was no object I would though!

have you tried the BACK ON TRACK range instead of the magnetic rugs?
i have used the magnetic for years but the rugs are heavy and you need to charge batteries and you cannot leave over night.
try the BACK ON TRACK its a ceramic fabric that has the effect of a infrared light. its easy to use comes in rugs, leg wraps etc.....
you will be supriced how quick you get result for sore backs or swollen legs etc..

have a look at the website.

i made my own using a magnetic rug kit i bought off the bay and its great - i leave mine on overnight, she also travels in it. she has bioflow boots too
really helps her -she has arthritis in hocks and is generally stiff
