Would love to hear people's experiences of magnetic therapy for their horse. I know there are a lot of products about so there must be a market, and people I respect have suggested using it, but the science geek in me is very sceptical. Those who have used it, did you find it made a difference? TIA

I used BioFlow magnetic legwraps on a mare whose only alternative was pts. She was already on the maximum bute, when I got them and it didn't seem to be making any difference. She wore them for the first 24 hours and trotted in for her tea, apparently sound - this mare had hobbled in walk before wearing them. She then wore them for 12 hours per day and did very well in them - she was retired pbut was definitely field sound and kept up with the herd. Unfortunately she died in her stable 3 months later from something unrelated. I have tried them on other horses without the same miraculous effects.
 
I am on the fence about magnets. I dont believe in them but There is no harm in trying them.

I myself currently wear a copper bracelet with magnets in. Since wearing it I have stopped getting Ganglion cysts on my wrists. Coincidence or not who knows! Either which way I still wear the bracelet.

The one thing about magnetic stuff is it doesn't depreciate much in value so even if you do buy some you can easily sell it on again if it isn't for you.
 
I had a similar result as Pearlsasinger on my old dog. my vet suggested I try them, as he had seen some good results. the only time he went off his legs again was when he lost his magnetic collar. I didn't hang around waiting to replace it! I've tried magnets again over the years with different animals, but not seen anything like the same result.
 
OK sounds like it is more likely to be useful in extremis rather than to help with a slight bit of stiffness. Though I guess EKW is right, no harm trying

this is worth knowing! certainly can't do that with all the supplements I have been throwing at him!!!
 
When mine was on box rest for a few days he was getting quite filled legs. Popped some magnetic bands on and the next morning his legs were perfect. Not sure how the science works, but know a lot of people who use them and see decent results.
 
Wouldn't be without my bioflow boots on my horse. Definetely see the difference when they have been on to when they have been left off. Even if people think its codswallop evidence suggests that any form of boot or bandage on a horse will prevent legs from being filled, and the warmth from them will help older horses with poor circulation.

I am sceptical but I still use them, i think they can't cause any harm so put them on. I use equistreamz and my mare is much more supple with these on, could be a total coincidence perhaps?
