Hi, I need to travel a horse to maidstone, can anyone tell me if the roads are ok around there and is there much snow? Not keen on driving the lorry in bad conditions!!

Depends were you are going, but the roads are still bad around here (snow and ice) and I would advise not to drive the horse box! Driving my Jeep today was bad enough!

I personally wouldnt do it. Dad works in Kent and Maidstone. And when he got back was saying how bad the snow was. So personally, I wouldnt risk it.

We drove the A26 Maidstone to Hadlow today at 9.30 and 11.00. At that time the road was okay as the snow/ice was slushy. We also travelled on some of the country lanes around East Farleigh/Barming, in part these roads were possibly even better!!!!

However, at 3pm the roads had started to ice up again because the temperature was dropping - so really would depend on actual roads you want to travel on and the time of travelling.

You would want to take it really carefully if you were to drive a loaded horse lorry though!!!

Probably worth waiting until Thursday when it is due to warm up a bit - if they have got the weather forecast right.

I wouldn't - Kent is still really bad. We're in Dartford which is much closer to London and loads of the small roads are like ice rinks. I was scared driving my 4x4 today!
