Does anyone keep their horses next to a main road and does it affect them? we keep out horse next to one, its a b road so its not really loud. You often see horses next to a motorway which much be much worse. Has anyone ever experienced any behaviour that means that the horse is gettting pissed off by it? I wish we didn't live next to it but there's nothing we can do.

I live on a busy A road and my horses are not bothered by the traffic. We have loads of motor bikes that roar down it as though they are on a race track - in the beginning if the horses were right by the hedge they would jump a bit but have got used to it now. We ride in the same field and have some idiots who think they should hoot you if they see you poo picking or riding - again horses are not bothered. We have ambulances and police cars - not bothered - we live near a little air strip too - low flying planes - not bothered lol :)

The only thing they never seemed to get used to was the blinking cars with england flags on that used to flap and make loads of noise - we would see them shoot off away from the side each time. Blooming nuisance. :)

live on a main road where motor bikes regularly open the throttle and go VERY fast, plus heavy lorris. Horses used to it. They get more upset by farm shoots that are endless at the moment. We do have good neighbours who tell us when thes are going on but haven't yet found a way of commumicating to the horses :)
