We have to dig ragwort where I am currently- I wouldn’t mind but there is tons of it, we have to frequently move paddocks- I spent all of last summer maintaining one paddock which has now been given to someone else....who commented that she has hardly any ragwort! ?

My other paddock is seriously bad for ragwort (digging out a full wheelbarrow a week at the moment). Desperately needs spraying but the YO’s approach is to top it, scattering seeds everywhere which just adds to it! Out of sight, out of mind! Grrr!

Who’s responsibility would it be to sort ragwort & strim nettles etc on a livery yard, specifically DIY?

Nothing in the contract covers these responsibilities.

Thanks,
At my yard most liveries all chip in. we do it when de-pooing and spending time. It is beneficial to all. I cannot do it all on my own.

Definitely should be done by the yard and I don’t understand why they wouldn’t be all over it making sure it’s removed. This year my place has 1 ragwort plant only we’ve been lucky. However docks - they make me savage. I’ve spent a lot of time improving our place and I can see the improvements but the docks I swear are mocking me! ?

We’ve pulled 15 wheelbarrows of ragwort out of our 7 acres between us as liveries but YO has dealt with docks and nettles. Team effort! YO is so lovely happy to help. Grass and weeds so crazy this year!

You’re right everything has gone mental growing this. I guess we benefit from loads of hay this year so it’s swings and roundabouts!
