My tb mare has just finished her course of gastroguard following an ulcer flare up.
She is currently out for about 4 hours per day and stables the rest, she's is turned out overnight come summertime. She is fed ad lib haylage,1kg fast fibre split between am and pm feeds along with un molassed alfalfa alfalfa and a handful of fibre nuggets.
I would like to know if anyone with experience of gastric ulcers feeds a maintenance supplement? She always get a large handful of alfalfa Alfalfa prior to riding and before travelling a syringe of colliglne. A few yard members suggested Brewers yeast, gastric aid or pink powder but would just like to here other people's views who have experienced ulcers rather than others who maybe haven't.
Thanks
