After some tricky few months and a lot of hard work i now feel i know my youngster well enough to hack her on her own now,i know that sounds very straight forward and not a big deal but this is the kind of horse that is a serial spooker/very sharp in company ( although not always) let alone on a hack without a buddy!!!! i went up the road on my own the other day but there were horses a far bit behind her and she was good so i decided to bite the bullet and go on a decent hack (hour and a half) it was quite windy and yes we did meet every hazard possible but apart from nearly jumping on a tractor it went ok and i was very proud of her,she is a true skitty mare and much to my disappointment i did have to get off to go past some blue piping sticking out of the ground but to be fair it was very scary and she was a good girl when i tried to get back on again (she doesn't do standing for you to get on that well!!!)
Anyway i've done riding on the roads now it's just going in open spaces i've got to conker as she generally decides to just f&ck off with you when the fancy takes her! not helpful if you are on your own.Any tips!!??? I try to get her in a rytham and i find trotting her works best as she likes to 'crack' on but she spooks when you least expect it and with no warning and thats when she takes off-when you become slightly unbalanced by the spook-clever mare!!!
Anyway some recent picks of the cheeky girl-butter woudn't melt.
