staffie x beagle. OMG. So an overly energetic and opiniated dog coupled with one that likes to go a wandering... I love my staffies but don't think that is a good mix and as for a staff x springer... OMG!
 
I'm sure some of the "F1 hybrids" they are so proud of producing fall under the DDA "type".

What kind if idiot buys from these places?

This one looks as though it's a DDA type to me. I'm sure if the RSPCA saw it they'd probably think it was.

Stumbled across a puppy farm website just the other day. They had an advert at the side of an online newspaper I was reading. They're churning out lord only knows how many litters of pedigrees and 'designer' pups (they used the word designer, not me!). Website mentions 3 gen pedigrees but no KC papers. Also no mention of health testing on the parents. It's a commercial operation though, so no doubt they're ticking all the applicable boxes for a council license, so that's all that matters. :(

Whole operation just seems weird to me. It's more like they're set up to sell furniture rather than dogs. :confused: http://www.littlerascalsuk.com/

I don't get it - I'm watching the video now of all their stud dogs which are, almost without exception, dirty, ungroomed and (at least to my untrained eye) poor examples of their breed. You'd think they'd at least give them a bath and pick the sleep out of their eyes before making a promotional video. :confused: How do people fall for this crap?

Aye, the little 'un breeds aren't really my thing, but even I had my 'rofl? but srsly?' face on when browsing some of their studs. :(
 
One of the old guys I used to care for got his dog from somewhere like that - the dog was a sweetie but then its never the dogs fault, only the breeders :mad: No idea what type of cross the dog was, only that it must have had poodle in there somewhere. It was ever so messed up, almost like it had a personality disorder. He would bring me a toy then after a few minutes he would guard it then almost get upset with himself and offer it for play again - some days he liked water and other days it freaked him out :confused: Devoted to his master tho, the dog died the day before his human.
 
I've seen the little rascals one before so not going to return for another attack on my blood pressure. I genuinely do not understand why people buy these pups, its not as if they are cheap fgs!
 
You are all probably going to give me grief for this but we bought our new puppy from little rascals - we went to have a look, and yes, it is run as a business, so it is obvious they are there to make money.

However, we bought a mini schnauzer bitch, and she is the sweetest, intelligent, beautiful little dog. She takes everything in her stride, is quick to learn and is very loving. We couldn't be more happy.

Although my OH did a google search online about them, after we had bought her (it was an impulse buy, we had always wanted one, but didn't bank on getting on right there and then!) and was alarmed to see they had been investigated by some tv programme about being a puppy farm - they were not found guilty though.

We panicked a bit and worried we had been sold some horror, but the vet confirmed that we had a very nice, well put together puppy.

So, I would say that our experience has been a good one as far as we are concerned.

To say they are groomers, the dogs looked a mess. Some of the trim jobs looked horrible
And the dogs didn't look very happy either

They are a puppy farm - that being by definition a place where puppies are produced as a cash crop.



They advertise far more than 21 litters of puppies each year and not all the puppies are bred on the premises.

Breed rescues are very familiar with dogs from them, purchased on impulse, dumped as quickly.
 
He is totally irresponsible but then so are the idiots who buy from him!!! And like another infamous topic relating to horses and foreign soils, it's the gullible twits who fuel farms like this' livelihood.
People need to get real and do some research before buying - goes for horse/dog dealers alike.
I am aghast that people are still getting conned by Essex dealers whose reputations are so out there anyone with little knowledge could tell you. :(
 
EEEEwwwwww!!! - poor creatures!! The owner of this dump is on another forum and judging by his responses is as thick as pig shite and has no morals what so ever!!! - it always amazes me people still are stupid enough to buy from a puppy farm with all the publicity going around today, and not even bother to research a dog before forking out a load of money on something that is highly likely to cost them a bomb in vet bills in the long run!!! - I used to see quite a few puppy farm bred dogs at the vets I worked at - they always cost a load in the long run from various health issues or had bad social issues!

Mind you I was horrified when I went to my local pet shop in Carlisle the other day to buy some bird seed and they had 4 puppies in there for sale - I have never seen pups in there before - they were advertised as jackhuahuas - JRT X Chi's not sure if that's how you spell it?!, for £450 each!!! - was horrified they look like puppy farm dogs and poorly bred, needless to say I won't be buying anything from there again!!!! - puppy farms seem to be every where - who buys a puppy from a pet shop anyway???!!!
 
the whole thing is just wrong. :( i truly dont understand people who buy from these kinds of places.

as for the site linked through the op: :(:confused: all those dogs look like freaks! i personally would never like to see the outcome of a staffie crossed with a beagle or a springer!!

what makes that freak a "nofrolk mountain dog" ???!!!! ivery much doubt it could make it up a bloody mountain!! :(

dont even get me started on the shambles of a "breed" that is the "shambull" i would however be seriously interested in seeing this american bulldog brood bitch.... wonder what health/temp testing has gone on there....??
 
Christ! They're awful, poor dogs.

And how is a Ba-Shar suddenly a Norfolk Mountain Dog several lines down? Are there any mountains in Norfolk?? Surely that alone would be enough to put off prospective puppy owners??

I think they're horrific crosses, certainly wouldn't deem it safe to breed a Shar Pei with an American Bulldog, at least not if the Bully was the sire!
